Wethersfield opens its doors to the voices influencing our cultural landscape. On select Saturday afternoons at 4 o’clock, join Richard Armstrong, Director Emeritus of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation, as he leads conversations with distinguished, local figures whose work shapes our cultural life.
Their stories, perspectives, and passions promise to spark ideas—and perhaps even action—long after the event ends. The event will feature a lively Q&A, along with wine and soft drinks. Seating in The Gloriette is limited; reservations are essential.
Saturday, September 20 — Peter Pennoyer
One of America’s most accomplished and sought-after architects, Peter Pennoyer is celebrated for designs that marry classical proportion with modern comfort and inspired detail. While his work spans the nation, his own home overlooking Tamarack Lake stands as a jewel of his vision. Expect an illuminating conversation, rich with ideas and informed by deep architectural insight.
Saturday, October 4 — Charles Pierce
As Director Emeritus of the Morgan Library & Museum, Charles Pierce guided the institution through two major expansions and significant endowment growth. In conversation with Armstrong, Pierce will reflect on the Morgan’s transformation under his leadership and explore the evolving role of art museums in today’s world. Prepare for an erudite, engaging journey through a remarkable career in cultural stewardship.
The series will resume in the spring, with conversations around conservation, art, classicism and more.
