Join us for an inspiring evening of music as we present the Shared Voices Residency Recital, a collaboration with the Denyce Graves Foundation and Wethersfield.
In keeping with founder Chauncey Stillman’s enduring passion for the cultural arts, Wethersfield hosts annual artistic residencies that support emerging talent across music, visual arts, and performance. This year, we are proud to once again welcome the Denyce Graves Foundation and the extraordinary young vocalists of Shared Voices.
Founded by internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, the Foundation is committed to nurturing the next generation of classical vocal artists through mentorship, access, and artistic excellence.
Shared Voices invites elite historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and conservatories to participate in a relationship that strives to create and encourage meaningful connections between consortium members – students, faculty, and administrators – that result in a greater awareness of the diversity within the classical vocal arts and culminate in a meaningful collaboration. As part of this intensive artistic residency at Wethersfield, students and young artists from top music conservatories and Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) have engaged in a week-long training program with industry luminaries, including immersive, day-long master classes with coaches from the Metropolitan Opera. This recital is the culminating moment of their time at Wethersfield.
Reception begins at 2:00 PM.Recital begins promptly at 3:00 PM, doors close at 2:45 PM.
We believe everyone should be able to enjoy Wethersfield. We will not turn away visitors due to financial hardship. If ticket cost is a concern, please reach out to us at [email protected].
